Copyright Board Will NOT Raise Royalty Rates on Digital. ITunes to stay open

The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington DC today ruled that the royalty rate for songs purchased online would stay at 9.1 cents and will not rise to the original proposed rate of 15 cents. Music publishers were seeking this rate hike but were denied. Because of the potential hike, Apple’s ITunes had threatened to shut down.
