Ryan Adams is set to release his first-ever iTunes Session on April 24 with a preorder available today on the iTunes Store. The set captures 8 stunning solo performances by Adams that were recorded at the historic Capitol Studios in Hollywood. The track listing features a mix of Adams classics from his 2000 solo debut Heartbreaker, the Whiskeytown era “Houses On The Hill,” and songs from his acclaimed new album Ashes & Fire, including the #1 AAA radio hit “Lucky Now.”

The session also includes a cover of Bob Mould’s “Black Sheets of Rain,” which Adams performed at a Mould tribute concert in Los Angeles last year prompting the Los Angeles Times to declare “Ryan Adams stole the show with the quietest set of the night. His devastating solo acoustic reads of Mould’s ‘Heartbreak a Stranger’ and ‘Black Sheets of Rain’ stripped the arrangements bare and revealed the first-rate melodicist behind them.”

Adams drew rave reviews and capacity crowds at every stop along his 2011 solo tour. The New York Times lauded his Carnegie Hall performance as a “gorgeously hushed communion” in which “a lone chord can arrive like a thunderclap.”

The track listing for Adams’ iTunes Session is as follows:

1. Dirty Rain
2. Oh My Sweet Carolina
3. Lucky Now
4. Houses on The Hill
5. Black Sheets of Rain
6. Chains of Love
7. Ashes and Fire
8. My Winding Wheel

Due to overwhelming popular demand for tickets to Ryan Adams’ Friday, February 17 2012 headline show at Walt Disney Concert Hall, a second show has been confirmed for Saturday, February 18, at 8 p.m.

The L.A. shows are the latest in a series of 2012 tour dates extending his completely sold out tour, which the New York Times recently lauded as a “gorgeously hushed communion” in which “a lone chord can arrive like a thunderclap.”

Generating some of the best reviews of his career, Adams’ “superb new album” (the New York Times again), Ashes & Fire (PAX-AM/Capitol), is eleven succinct and beautiful songs that “will leave you speechless” according to People, and hailed by Esquire as “too good not to write about” and by USA Today as a record that “restores faith in the increasingly saggy singer/songwriter genre.” Ashes & Fire was produced by 2012 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Glyn Johns, renowned for his work with the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Clash and The Rolling Stones, and whose son Ethan produced previous Adams solo landmarks including Heartbreaker and Gold. The record also features guest turns from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench and Norah Jones, who contributes piano and backing vocals to several tracks.

Having recently made his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut last month as part of See a Little Light: A Celebration of the Music and Legacy of Bob Mould, Ryan Adams will return to the iconic venue as a headliner on Friday, February 17, at 8 p.m.

The L.A. show is the latest in a series of 2012 tour dates extending his current completely sold out tour, which the New York Times recently lauded as a “gorgeously hushed communion” in which “a lone chord can arrive like a thunderclap.” Of his performance at last month’s Mould tribute, the Los Angeles Times noted, “Ryan Adams stole the show, however, with the quietest set of the night. His devastating solo acoustic reads of Mould’s “Heartbreak a Stranger” and “Black Sheets of Rain” stripped the arrangements bare and revealed the first-rate melodicist behind them.”

Tickets are available for purchase beginning Sunday, December 18th at 10 a.m. at LAPhil.com, the Walt Disney Concert Hall Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
