13-time GRAMMY winning producer, songwriter and rapper Eminem has signed on as executive producer of the hotly anticipated debut album from five-time GRAMMY-nominated singer songwriter Skylar Grey, it was announced today. The first single, “C’mon Let Me Ride” featuring Eminem, which is produced by Alex Da Kid and mixed by both Eminem and Alex, will be released to all digital retailers on December 11. Grey’s debut album, now titled Don’t Look Down, is due out Spring 2013 from KIDinaKORNER/Interscope.

“When I was working on Recovery I was introduced to Skylar by Alex Da Kid and I was blown away with her talent as both a songwriter and vocalist,” said Eminem. “This album is really going to give her a chance to connect with the fans who probably know her music, but might not know her yet. I think they will be as impressed as I am.”

“Putting out a debut album is a bit scary – I want it to be just right so I took some extra time to finish it. Eminem’s increased involvement has been such a blessing; I’m getting guidance from an artist I really admire and trust,” said Grey. “Having written many new songs, the album has become a completely different animal, hence the title change. This new single with Em, in particular, is very exciting. We have worked on so many serious songs together – it’s a nice change of pace to do something fun and sarcastic.”

The music video for “”C’mon Let Me Ride”” featuring Eminem was shot in Detroit last week and will also be released along with the single on December 11th.

Skylar Grey’s time of sunshine has been coming for a while. Skylar’s sang on several popular songs in the past two years including Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Coming Home” and Dr. Dre’s “I Need a Doctor.” You might’ve even heard her sing on the Linkin Park side project Fort Minor’s “Where’d You Go” (she used to go by Holly Brook back then). She even co-wrote the huge Eminem and Rihanna hit “Love The Way You Lie.” Skylar’s all set to release her major label debut Invinsible in 2012 on Interscope Records. Her new single “Invisible” (iTunes) is everywhere and we’re sure that she’ll be playing it tonight, along with other new songs off of Invinsible, at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles. Skylar Grey’s video for “Invisible” has just been released. Watch it below:

Skylar penned “Invisible” about a year ago, while living in the Oregon wilderness, and has this to say about the track:

“I wanted it to be Peter Parker by day mets Spiderman by night. An everyday kid, who isn’t really that cool but there’s something else going on, that people don’t know about. That’s kind of the journey that I went on. I discovered that my insecurities and my flaws were things that I actually need to embrace, and I let them become my superpowers.”

Skylar Grey’s debut album, INVINSIBLE, arrives in 2012. “Invisible” is directed by Jay Martin (Wolfmother, Atreyu, Death Cab For Cutie.)

It has been a mind expanding experience and a dream come true to add this icon to my list of collaborations.”

The highly-anticipated debut album INVINSIBLE from singer-songwriter SKYLAR GREY will be released in Fall 2011 from Alex da Kid’s KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, it was officially announced today. A teaser track from the album, “Dance Without You,” is available as a free download today, for 48 hours only, at www.skylargreymusic.com. Grey has made a name for herself lending her songwriting and singing talents to such acts as Eminem and Rihanna (“Love the Way You Lie”), Dr. Dre (“I Need a Doctor”), Diddy Dirty Money (“Coming Home”) and Lupe Fiasco (“Words I Never Said”), among others.

Grey’s INVINSIBLE, produced by Alex Da Kid, will take listeners by storm with a breathlessly original sound – a sonic exploration in darkly brooding yet beautiful vocal textures, innovative beats and biting lyrics. From “Invisible,” the first official single, slated to be released soon, to INVINSIBLE, the album represents the unveiling of Grey, who has remained much of a mystery to this point.

“I have been working so hard with Alex on this music; I’m excited it’s finally going to be out there for everyone to hear. I won’t have to describe it anymore, because the music can finally speak for itself,” says Grey. “Also, I’m very influenced by film and it is my hope that when people listen to my music, they are consumed with vast, cinematic imagery.”

Lyrically, the album’s songs, which also include “WEIRDO,” “BUILDING A MONSTER,” and “FINAL WARNING,” chronicle the transformation Grey has made over the past few years as she has struggled to find her place within the music industry. “Building A Monster,” in particular, chronicles the process Grey has taken from invisible to invincible – the two words the album’s title play on. The album will include one, soon-to-be-announced feature collaboration. A full track listing will be announced in the forthcoming months. Grey’s first live solo performance has been announced for Lollapalooza in August and more dates will be announced in the upcoming months.

The new Dr. Dre “I Need A Doctor” video featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey has premiered on MTV and MTV.com.

Directed by acclaimed film director Allen Hughes (Menace II Society, Book of Eli), the seven and a half minute film includes private home video footage from Dr. Dre in a retrospective of his life and career as well as a spectacular car crash that totaled a real Ferrari Modena.

“This is a very unique song, very personal and groundbreaking so when I first heard the track I knew it was something I had to do because I like to do things that are different and innovative,” said Allen Hughes. “Besides knowing Dre for 20 years, I felt compelled to do this as a fan and as a connoisseur of popular culture I wanted to be a part of this event because it’s from the last album that a large amount of people will listen to from beginning to end.”

“I Need a Doctor” is the second track from Dr. Dre’s forthcoming third and final solo album, Detox. Dr. Dre, Eminem and Skylar Grey recently performed the song for the first time on the Grammy Awards and the track debuted at #1 on iTunes.

Dr. Dre began his career creating groundbreaking music as a member and producer of renowned hip hop group N.W.A. His two solo albums which followed, The Chronic (1992) and Dr. Dre 2001 (1999) are two of the most influential and essential hip hop albums of all time. Among the artists whose music Dr. Dre has produced are Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 2Pac and 50 Cent. He has won six Grammy awards including Producer of the Year in 2001. In 2008 Dr. Dre co-founded with Jimmy Iovine , Beats by Dr. Dre, the enormously successful high-performance headphone and sound transmission company.
