Hippies Are Dead Records is excited to announce the release of Oui Camera Oui, the brand new EP from the Bay Area’s The Heavenly States. Recorded and produced with Bill Lefler in Los Angeles, CA, in the fall of 2009 and mixed by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady, Kurt Vile), Oui Camera Oui shows the EP short form can pack a powerful punch, and it whets the appetite for the band’s next EP installments which will include sister songs, prequels, epilogues and other forms to create connections across several releases. Oui Camera Oui features memorable guest appearances by Britt Daniel of Spoon (“Berlin Wall”) and Eugene Mirman, who recites the EP’s comic epilogue (“Careful With That Review, Eugene”). Check out a full stream of Oui Camera Oui over at AOL Music HERE.

In addition to the EP being available in stores and online now, the band is excited to release the music video for “Berlin Wall.” Having premiered on Rolling Stone Magazine online and featuring vocals from Britt Daniel of Spoon, the video for “Berlin Wall” was directed and expertly animated by Kristoffer West Johnson and is a complimentary companion piece to the song’s emphatic musical stomp and contemplative lyrics contained within.

Ted Nesseth, frontman for The Heavenly States, was also recently selected to participate as one of three judges for the June 24 US Air Guitar Championships competition stop in San Francisco, CA. Nesseth will sit on a panel to judge the area’s air guitar hopefuls who will be competing for a chance to represent the United States at the World Championships being held in Oulu, Finland. For more information on the US Air Guitar Championships, visit: http://www.usairguitar.com

The Heavenly States will also be performing at the following venues across the west coast of the US in support of Buffalo Tom in May.
