If you’re a fan of rock music (no not indie or emo) these days, you don’t have too many options for your nightly concert plans but we have a suggestion for tonight.

Corey Taylor, possessor of one of hard rock’s best voices, has been on a solo acoustic tour for the past month. These shows are unlike any that Corey has played before. You don’t only get to hear Corey play hits from his bands Slipknot and Stone Sour but also covers of bands like U2 and Alice in Chains. Even more, you’ll get to hear Corey perform spoken-word pieces and take questions from fans in the audience. Usually, a show like this would be reserved for a special one-off performance but Corey’s been doing this for the entire tour. As far as the Q&A goes, no topics are off limits. Corey’s answered questions honestly about producer Rick Rubin, former Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland and Slipknot’s next album. Who knows what Corey will reveal tonight at New York City’s Highline Ballroom.

ROCK ON THE RANGE is celebrating its Fifth Anniversary! America’s premier destination rock festival–May 21-22at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio–will feature a spectacular lineup of rock heavyweights including A Perfect Circle (first performance of 2011), Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour and Staind (first performance in two years). The unforgettable weekend will also be highlighted by performances from Danzig, Hollywood Undead, Bullet For My Valentine, Black Label Society and Alter Bridge. In addition, Juliya of Fuse TV will return as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.

“Three years ago my other band Ashes Divide was fortunate enough to play Rock On The Range as a support act; to return to the same festival and headline this year with A Perfect Circle is truly an honor,” says Billy Howerdel of A Perfect Circle.

“We are honored that Rock On The Range has asked us be one of the headliners,” says M Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold. “Not only is it an amazing show to be apart of, but it holds a deep spot in our hearts. Rock On The Range was the last American show we played with our best friend and drummer, The Rev. We are looking forward to continuing his legacy of rock n roll insanity that night! See you all there.”

“If you suffer from stimulus overload, the fifth anniversary of Rock On The Range may be too much for you,” quips Del Williams, co-executive producer of the event for Right Arm Entertainment. “Virtually all of the bands that make up the top of the Active Rock charts are performing at America’s biggest Rock festival. When you look at the acts on the bill, and think of the massive list of songs that live in the body of that lineup, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with excitement.”

The ROCK ON THE RANGE celebration will start early on Friday night, May 20 with the nation’s biggest pre-festival Anniversary Party at the venue, featuring performances from two of the world’s craziest throwback rock artists–Steel Panther and Lez Zeppelin. Best of all, your ticket to the Anniversary Party will be absolutely FREE with every ROCK ON THE RANGE weekend ticket purchase!

“It seems like only yesterday that we created this vision for an active rock festival in the heartland, but it’s actually been five years now.” comments Joe Litvag, co-executive producer of the event for AEG Live. “If it weren’t for the loyal fan base of active rock fans, the ‘Rangers,’ Rock On The Range would still just be an idea on the back of a napkin! We can’t think of a better way to say ‘thank you’ then to throw a big FREE party for everyone! It will be a night of unmatched celebration!”

A special ROCK ON THE RANGE ticket pre-sale will take place from Wednesday, February 9 at 10:00 AM (ET) through Friday, February 11 at 10:00 PM (ET). For details on pre-sale, go to: www.facebook.com/rockontherange. Tickets go on sale to the general public Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 AM (ET). Two-day weekend festival passes start at just $99.50 plus service and transaction fees. Layaway ticket purchase options are also still available for a limited time.

“We are extremely excited about the lineup for Rock On The Range’s Fifth Anniversary show at Crew Stadium,” said Mark McCullers, President & General Manager of the Columbus Crew, a co-executive Producer of Rock On The Range. “We are coming off another record year in 2010 and are looking forward to raising the bar again in 2011.”

ROCK ON THE RANGE–The Book is another new bonus for fans in connection with the fifth anniversary of the festival. This limited edition coffee-table photo book captures the first four years of ROTR and features behind-the-scenes photos, never-before-seen performance shots, and testimonials from past ROTR performers including Stone Temple Pilots, Slipknot, Slash, Godsmack, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Rise Against and many more. Copies of ROTR—The Book will be included in each of the VIP and Hotel ticket packages and is also available independently for $25 plus shipping and handling at www.rockontherange.com.

Stay tuned to www.RockOnTheRange.com, www.facebook.com/rockontherange and www.twitter.com/rockontherange for the most up-to-date ROCK ON THE RANGE information.

Photo Finish Records hard rock band New Medicine announced today a four-week tour supporting Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, and Hollywood Undead in 2011. The tour marks New Medicine’s second outing with Avenged Sevenfold and Stone Sour; the bands first shared the road this summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival.

Kicking off on January 20, 2011, at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA, the 4-band bill will wind its way across the U.S. through February 13 at the Knight Arena in Eugene, OR. To finish out 2010, New Medicine will wrap up dates with Pop Evil this week, and then will support D.R.U.G.S. and Eyes Set To Kill for a limited run beginning next week and running through December 19. On December 29, December 31, and January 1, New Medicine will celebrate the New Year with very special shows supporting Halestorm (see full itinerary below).

Produced by S*A*M & Sluggo (Coheed & Cambria, Gym Class Heroes, Katy Perry), “Laid,” the first single from “RACE YOU TO THE BOTTOM, has been added in several major markets, including Detroit, Chicago, and the band’s hometown of Minneapolis.

“RACE YOU TO THE BOTTOM” debuted at #2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart earlier this fall. The band collaborated with several notable producers on the album in addition to the aforementioned S*A*M & Sluggo, including Steve Hodge (Michael Jackson, Sting, Psychedelic Furs); and The Blasting Room, the production team of Bill Stevenson (Rise Against) and Jason Livermore (Puddle of Mudd). The resulting 14 songs showcase a hard sound with a positive slant.

New Medicine is Jake Scherer, Dan Garland, Matthew Brady, and Ryan Guanzon. For up-to-the-minute news and information, please visit www.newmedicinerock.com, www.myspace.com/newmedicine, and http://twitter.com/newmedicine.

The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival and Stone Sour are working together to raise funds for Child Find of America, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and resolution of child abduction (1-800-I-AM-LOST). Stone Sour–whose current single “Say You’ll Haunt Me” is already at #4 at Rock Radio after less than a month–has donated VIP tickets for their August 30 headlining show at New York City’s The Studio at Webster Hall to be auctioned off for the charity which UPROAR has partnered with for a nationwide awareness campaign.

eBay will host a 24-hour charity auction for a pair of VIP tickets to this special intimate Stone Sour show which takes place on a day off from the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival. The eBay auction can be found here: http://donations.ebay.com/charity/charity.jsp?NP_ID=175.

The first annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival launched August 17 in Minneapolis, MN and runs through October 4 in Madison, WI. UPROAR’s stellar active rock lineup includes multi-platinum headliner Disturbed, who will release their Asylum CD August 31, following three consecutive #1 album debuts; and multi-platinum co-headliner Avenged Sevenfold, whose newly-released Nightmare recently debuted at #1 on the “Billboard 200” album chart. In addition, the main stage features 3-time Grammy nominees Stone Sour, set to release Audio Secrecy September 7 following their gold-certified Come What(ever) May album which debuted at #4 on the “Billboard 200” album chart; and Halestorm, touring in support of their self-titled debut CD. The potent rock lineup for the touring music and lifestyle jaunt also features performances from Jägermeister Second Stage headliners Hellyeah (whose new CD Stampede debuted at #8 on the “Billboard 200” album chart in July), as well as Airbourne, Hail The Villain, New Medicine and the local Jägermeister-sponsored opener in each city.
