Tonight: The Dig and The Kickdrums Play WRXP/Vitamin Water Show At Studio At Webster Hall Tonight

Tonight, New York City rock station 101.9 WRXP hosts a Vitamin Water Uncapped concert at the Studio At Webster Hall (tickets). The new concert series, held on the last Friday of every month, will feature some of the best music that the New York City area has to offer. Headlining the show is everyone’s favorite indie rock band, The Dig. Touring relentlessly behind their album Electric Toys, The Dig have played with The Postelles, Dashboard Confessional, Editors, The Antlers, Glasvegas and Beady Eye all in the past year and a half. If you haven’t seen The Dig live and you go to New York City rock shows, there must be something wrong with you (only 1/4 kidding here). Do yourself a favor and download “You’re Already Gone”.

Cleveland-born Brooklyn implants The Kickdrums are carving out a place for themselves in the scene with a unique style that sets them apart from their peers. Combining elements from soul, alternative rock and hip hop, just to name a few, these guys don’t spend too much time in one single genre for very long. Following up two solid well-praised releases, the band will be dropping their latest creation,”Meet Your Ghost” onto the masses this Tuesday, June 28th. If your ears have not been subjected to such awesomeness yet, be sure to check out “Perfect World” from the album featuring Rza of the Wu-Tang Clan.

The Dig’s Van Was Robbed (Help Out!)

The Dig’s van was robbed on Sunday night in Chicago, en route to their dates with Dashboard Confessional, and most of their gear stolen. The Dig will be able to play the Gurnee and Eureka shows thanks to the good men of Dashboard Confessional, who have kindly offered to let the band share their gear for the next two nights. (Help out the band by making any donation on PayPal here) Anyone with information on the stolen gear can please contact the Chicago Police and/or The Dig at thedigmusic@gmail.com. The van was parked on N. Leavitt St. and W. Evergreen Ave., and a full list of stolen items is below:

The Dig To Open For Dashboard Confessional

There’s very little rest in sight for New York City indie rockers The Dig. Just having wrapped up a tour with Thrice and Bad Veins, the band is set to open a couple of shows this week for Dashboard Confessional on July 27th and 28th. The Dig, who have also toured with The Joy Formidable, The Antlers, Editors, Portugal. The Man, recently released their debut album Electric Toys on June 8th. Produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony & the Johnsons, The Ramones), Electric Toys has not only been raved by critics but also by major label A&R scouts. Regardless, this indie rock band from New York is creating a pretty big buzz.
