Grammy Award Winning band Train is set to release California 37 on April 17, 2012. The new record is the follow-up to the band’s multi-platinum 2009 release Save Me, San Francisco which featured the biggest song of 2010, “Hey Soul Sister.” Train recorded the new album in San Francisco and Los Angeles with Butch Walker and Espionage producing the record.

The first single from California 37, “Drive By,” has been rocketing up the sales and radio charts, with over 67,000 singles sold in only the first three weeks. The song has been most added at multiple formats for several weeks in a row and is already charting at Top 40, Hot AC and AAA radio. Internationally “Drive By” has been embraced in the UK, Canada, Japan, France, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries.

Train will also unveil the third varietal from their Save Me, San Francisco Wine Company, a Cabernet Sauvignon called ‘California 37′ this spring. This will follow the previous varietals, ‘Drops of Jupiter Petite Syrah’ and ‘Calling All Angels Chardonnay.’ A portion of the proceeds goes to the San Francisco charity Family House, which provides temporary housing to families of seriously ill children. The multiplatinum band TRAIN made its mark on music history with their GRAMMY-Award-winning song “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” and chart-topping singles “Meet Virginia” and “Calling All Angels.” Train earned their third GRAMMY in 2011 for the worldwide smash “Hey Soul Sister” from SAVE ME, SAN FRANCISCO. “Hey Soul Sister” was the biggest selling single of 2010 and hit #1 at radio in the US and in 15 countries abroad. SAVE ME, SAN FRANCISCO has sold over one million albums worldwide and over eight million tracks. In addition to taking the sales and radio worlds by storm, Train has been all over television. Blue Note recording artist Amos Lee will make a very special appearance on the Fourth of July holiday performing for more than 1,200 troops and military families at the Third Annual “Salute to the Military USO Concert” on the White House South Lawn. The event, hosted by President Barack Obama, celebrates not only Independence Day, but also commemorates 70 years of the USO’s support of America’s military community. The hour-long concert, which also features Train, will be streamed live starting at 8:15 p.m. at www.whitehouse.gov.

“I’m honored and excited to be invited to the South Lawn to celebrate the nation’s independence, and to give thanks to the men and women who have served our country,” Lee says.

In other news, Lee’s current album Mission Bell was recently selected by NPR Music listeners as one of the Top 10 albums of the year so far, landing at No. 9 (see a complete list here). In addition, the Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter will perform the first single off Mission Bell, “Windows Are Rolled Down,” on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson on July 21st, following up on previous appearances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Late Show With David Letterman, The Early Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, PBS’s Tavis Smiley, Conan, and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, as well as NPR’s “World Café” and “All Things Considered.” “Windows Are Rolled Down” has been a mainstay on the AAA chart for 30 weeks, spending 22 weeks in the Top 10 and 12 weeks in the Top 5 before hitting No. 1 on May 2nd. The album’s second single, “Flower,” is also quickly ascending the AAA chart, while its visually stunning video was recently named “Video Of The Week” by iTunes. The video, directed by //kneeon, can be viewed at Lee’s VEVO page: www.vevo.com/artist/amos-lee.

Last month, Lee wrapped up a headlining U.S. tour, and is embarking on a series of dates that feature special guests Calexico (who perform on Mission Bell), including a show at the Orpheum in Los Angeles on August 20th. The album was produced by Calexico’s co-founder Joey Burns. Lee will also perform a series of festival dates, including the Dave Matthews Band Caravan on July 8th, the LL Bean Festival on July 30th, the Newport Folk Festival on July 31st, and a performance with My Morning Jacket at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 4th. On July 13th, Lee will hit the road with multiple Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams for a series of very special shows, followed in September by a month of sold-out dates in the UK with British songstress Adele, who hand-selected Lee to perform with her on this extensive tour of her native land.
