Dave Grohl returns to birth city Warren, OH, gets own alley and key to the city

Warren, Ohio’s newest favorite son, Dave Grohl, returned to the city where he was born yesterday as part of a ceremony to honor the famed rocker. Warren recently renamed a short roadway downtown David Grohl Alley. To celebrate, the city had a concert with local bands performing and Grohl himself even jumped behind the drums to perform with Love Turns Hate on two songs, including a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock N Roll.” Then Grohl performed three songs acoustically: “Times Like These,” “My Hero,” and “Everlong” before being presented with a bottle of champagne and the Key to the City of Warren by Director of Public Safety Services Doug Franklin. Franklin told Grohl: “You already have the key to our hearts, and, to top that, I’m going to give you the key to the city.” Grohl dedicated his performance of “My Hero” to Warren Sgt. Joe O’Grady, who worked hard for two years to honor Grohl at this event.
